Legendary producer Ray Chew

World renowned musician, composer and producer Ray Chew will serve as new Musical Director of the WORLD AWARDS. Georg Kindel, Founder and Chairman of the WORLD AWARDS: “We are thrilled by this long-term cooperation with one of the world’s most respected and inventive artists”. Chew is not only the Musical Director for the BET Awards, the BET Honors and the Apollo Theater, but three U.S. network television series as well: NBC’s The Singing Bee, Showtime At The Apollo and BET’s Sunday Best.

Ray Chew has been at the helm of many award winning musical events performing with many of the best in the music business including Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Sting, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Barry Manilow and Quincy Jones.

Ray’s recording career spans from legendary singer Diana Ross through Alicia Key’s three Grammy award-winning albums. He has orchestrated and appeared on many television specials including the 44th, 46th and 47th Annual Grammy Awards, VH-1’s Save The Music Concert, MTV Unplugged, Nobel Peace Prize Concert and the World Music Awards. Ray also performed with Grammy Awards winner Rihanna in six countries

He will perform live at the 2009 SAVE THE WORLD AWARDS with his legendary band, some of the best musicians in the U.S., and is planning a very special highlight for the show: “We Are The World” as grand finale with artists who appeared on the original recording as well as music colleagues who have been inspired by Michael Jackson’s music for the ages.
